The default color scheme for the Course Menu is a dark gray background with white text. If desired, this color scheme can be changed.

The default color scheme is an accessible design with high contrast, allowing better access to the Course Menu. Please keep this in mind when changing the Course Menu color scheme.

Step-by-step guide

  1. On the Course Management menu, select the Customization menu.
  2. Select the Teaching Style link.

  3. Scroll to the middle of the page to find the Select Menu Style area.

Though the Buttons option is listed on the Style menu, Text is the only option for the Course Menu. Selecting Buttons will not change the Course Menu.

  4. Click the drop-down area next to the color box to select a new Background Color.

  5. You can then do the same step for the Text Color.

If your Course Menu has subheaders they will remain white. In the picture below, Student Resources is a subheader and will remain in white text no matter the color selected for the Course Menu text.

  6. Check to make sure the Course Menu is readable and appears the way you want it to. Then click Submit.
