Why can't I reach the application for admission, class schedule or anything else? It displays a Page Not Found error.

This error is usually due to a firewall at your place of access. The new Banner system used by Missouri State University operates on a non-standard web port (9080 vs. port 80 for regular web traffic), and some firewalls simply block all non-standard ports. If you are attempting to access Missouri State resources that are located inside Banner from work or your school and are receiving Page Not Found errors, we encourage you to ask your local Information Technology staff about your firewall settings.

When I click the link to "Access my account and make payments" I get an error saying that I'm not authorized to access the page. Why?

This error is caused by your web browser refusing to accept the cookies necessary to view this page. By default, Apple's Safari web browser will not accept the necessary cookies unless you make some changes to the settings. Our article on adjusting Safari's settings can tell you how to fix that.

How do I request permission to take a class?

You will need to contact either the professor teaching the class or the department offering the class to request permission. It is best to do this in advance of registration to give them time to grant permission and ensure that you can register on time. For more information, visit the Office of the Registrar's page.

How do I access my book list?

Just follow the guide titled Where can I see my Booklist?

 Where's my Financial Aid information?

Financial Aid information is listed in the Profile tab of the My Missouri State portal. There are two important things to note about this channel: First, that it only displays information, and is not a means of requesting aid or interacting with Financial Aid; second, that this channel will only appear if you have Financial Aid information to be displayed.

This means that you will still need to contact the Office of Student Financial Aid directly to apply for financial aid or request assistance.

 Where's the trial schedule tool?

In your My Missouri State portal, under the Registration tab, and the My Registration module there is a Trial Schedule Builder.

While trying to create my account, it says that my Account Information cannot be verified. Why not, and what do I do about it?

While creating your account, you will be asked to verify some personal information (your name, address, etc.). That information is then compared with the University's electronic records. If the information doesn't match, you will receive a message that your account information could not be verified. It could be that you are abbreviating a street address differently, or that there is some other minor discrepancy. The quickest way to overcome this problem is to enter an email address in the optional email field. You will immediately receive an email letting you know that your account information could not be verified, and that a technician will manually verify your information as soon as possible. Once they have verified your information, you will receive another email message with instructions on how to finish setting up your account. Though we are currently dealing with a high volume of this sort of email, verifying your account information shouldn't take more than a few days.

How do I change my address?

You can view your current addresses and phone numbers on file with the University by clicking on the Profile tab in the My Missouri State portal, then selecting View Addresses and Phone in the Personal Information module.

To change your address, you must submit a Change of Student Contact Information form to the Registrar.
