Fonts Do Not Display Clearly in Web Browser When Using Internet Native Banner in Mac OS X

The font size of Internet Native Banner in Mac OS is very small by default. However, sometimes in Safari, Netscape, or Firefox, the characters are difficult to read because they do not display clearly or parts of some characters are missing. This is a known issue with Java 1.4.2, which works in conjunction with your browser.

You can resolve this by turning on the Smooth All Text in Java Applets settings option.

NOTE
This has not been a reported problem in Internet Explorer.

To turn on the Smooth All Text in Java Applets setting option:

  1. Close your Web browser.
  2. Double-click the hard drive icon on your desktop.
  3. Double-click the Applications icon.
  4. Double-click the Utilities folder.
  5. Double-click the Java folder.
  6. Double-click the Java 1.4.2 Plugin Settings icon.
  7. In Java Applets, place a check mark in Smooth All Text.
  8. Click the Apply Now button.
  9. Close the Java Plug-in Control Panel.
  10. Close all open windows.
  11. Open a new browser and start Internet Native Banner.
