Step-by-step guide

  1. Once installed on your computer, the Mediasite Desktop Recorder (MDR) application can be launched from your computer's Programs or Applications menu, or from the Mediasite Portal. MDR opens to the Home Panel.

  2. The Overview icon links you to Mediasite Desktop Recorder support documentation provided by Sonic Foundry. The embedded support documentation includes links to information and instructions on the Mediasite Desktop Recorder application and use.  Below is a brief outline of the web-based documentation:
    1. Overview: Mediasite Desktop Recorder Help menu with links to support content from Sonic Foundry.  The support content menu items include
      1. Getting Started overview
      2. Update Settings to customize Mediasite Desktop Recorder's behavior
      3. Sign in/Change account instructions
      4. Record offline information
    2. Record: The Record menu section includes:
      1. Instructions on recording a Screencast and audio segment
      2. Instructions on recording a Slides and video segment
      3. Instructions on recording a Slides and audio segment
    3. Manage: This menu section includes:
      1. Upload to new presentation instructions
      2. Upload to existing presentation
      3. Rename/delete recording
    4. Settings: Allows you to customize behavior of the Mediasite Desktop Recorder

  3. The Record icon takes you to the Recording Control panel to proceed with determining the type and recording of your project.

  4. The Manage icon takes you to the Recording Management section.

  5. The Settings icon takes you to the Mediasite Desktop Recorder Settings panel.

  6. The Mediasite Desktop Recorder panels will be reviewed in greater detail depending on the process and recording type of your projects.
