With the move toward cloud-based storage and an increased demand for cybersecurity awareness, it's important to keep in mind the university policies regarding information storage and classification. This page provides an overview of the best practices suggested by the Information Security Office for securely storing university data, whether it's on your university-provided computer or on a cloud-based program. Any questions about this information can be directed to the Information Security Office.

SUDERS Request

A SUDERS request is required to store and share certain types of private, restricted, and highly restricted information. You can fill out a SUDERS request via the Information Security Office's website.

Information About this Chart:

Your PC refers to your on-campus, office computer as well as any home computers you may use for work-related documentation.

Removable Drive refers to a USB flash or zip drive, or a portable hard drive.

Server Share refers to existing university servers such as the local Bear1 server or the secure Clementine server.

Office 365 - OneDrive for Business refers to your individual, work-provided OneDrive for Business account and any Office 365 Group files.

Office 365 - SharePoint Online refers to your department or team SharePoint site.

Other Cloud Services refers to your personal, non-work provided OneDrive account or other cloud storage service, like Google Drive or Dropbox.
