Frequently Asked Questions and Tips about the Student Educational Planner

Q: Can I get a list of my advisees who are off-track on their plan?

              A: The Office of the Registrar is working on reports to provide this information. 

Q: Are there any additional benefits to using the SEP?

                A: If this is widely used, it could be a beneficial tool in estimating course demand.

Q:  How often should I review this?

               A: It is recommended that you make reviewing this a standard part of the student’s advising appointment.

Q:  Can students change their own plan?

              A: No. Students may view the plan but only advisors have access to change a plan. This is any advisor, not just the student’s assigned advisor.

Q:  Is there a form that has to be filled out to make a change to the plan?

             A: No. There is no standardized form to communicate a requested plan change. This communication is managed between the student and advisor and does not need to be communicated to the Office of the Registrar.
