The Mediasite Web Editor allows you to cut or remove a section along the timeline of your recorded presentation. There may be an instance where you wish to remove a section disrupted by a cough, sneeze, or other distraction during your presentation, or you may wish to pause and restart a section of your delivery, providing ample space between takes to remove the section leaving your preferred take in place.

Step-by-step guide

  1. The Mediasite Web Editor provides you with different options to save your edits, giving you the opportunity to save an edited presentation with a new name, keeping your original presentation intact with the edits. The Commit option is located along the top menu bar of the Mediasite Web Editor page.

  2. When you are satisfied with the changes and edits on your presentation, you will need to Commit them to one of the three (3) options available.
    1. Commit to Current: Saves your edits and changes to your current presentation. When you Commit to Current, the Mediasite Web Editor will prompt you to confirm your edits to the current presentation. You will either select Commit to confirm the edits or Cancel to continue editing.

    2. Commit to New: Creates a new version of your presentation and save your edits and changes to that new presentation. This will leave your original presentation intact and unedited. When you Commit to New, the Mediasite Web Editor will prompt you to confirm your edits to the current presentation. A "Commit Changes to New Presentation"  window will appear with  a "Title" option window will appear for you to enter a new title for new presentation with a different name. You will either select Commit to confirm the edits or Cancel to continue editing.

    3. Commit to existing: Lets you keep your edits but applies them to another existing presentation. This will leave your original presentation intact and unedited but provide you with an edited, existing version of the presentation. When you Commit to existing, the Mediasite Web Editor will prompt you to confirm your edits to an existing presentation. A "Commit to Existing Presentation" window will appear with a Mediasite Server view of user folders. You will need to navigate to your Private folder within the MyMediasite section. Once you select and open your folder, you will see a list of your recorded and published presentations. You will then select which "existing" presentation you wish to save it to. You will either select Commit to confirm the edits or Cancel to continue editing.
