Files and images that already exist electronically can be imported into BDMS.  Clipboard items, such as screenshots or email messages, can also be brought into BDMS by using Clipboard Paste.  These documents can be put in a batch or immediately indexed.

Step-by-step guide

  1. From the Application List, on a BDMS application, right-click and select either:
    1. New Document OR
    2. Batch Import...
  2. If selecting Batch Import... give the batch a name and select Next.

    If you are planning to save a clipboard item, such as a screenshot, to BDMS, now is the time to put that image on your clipboard. You can do that by opening the document or window that you would like to add and choosing theAlt and Print Screen buttons at the same time on your keyboard.

    You can add an Outlook email message to the clipboard by opening Outlook, highlighting the email message in the list, and hitting CTRL and C on your keyboard together. Hit CTRL first, then hit C while holding down CTRL.


  3. Navigate to the Page Menu button and expand New Page.
  4. Choose one of the following options.  Each will have an option to Append.
    1. Clipboard Paste
    2. Clipboard Paste Special
    3. Import File 

      If importing or pasting into an existing document, you may also have the options of_ Insert Before and Insert After
  5. For the Clipboard Paste option, the image is automatically added.
  6. For the Import File option, navigate to the file location on your computer or any available network sources.  Select the file and choose Open.  The page (or pages) are added to the document.
  7. Proceed with adding additional pages to the document, proceed with indexing, or close the batch.
