Collaborate Original Documentation

We suggest Collaborate Original be used only in these specific use cases:

  • There are > 100 participants (including moderators, guest speakers, etc.).  

To access and use Blackboard Collaborate you must first make the tools available.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Navigate to Control Panel > Customization > Tool Availability.

  2. Check all available boxes next to the five Blackboard Collaborate tools and click Submit.

  3. Add a Content Area to your Blackboard Course Menu, and name it "Blackboard Collaborate" or something similar. 

  4. Select Available to All Users to make the content area visible to students, then hit Submit.
  5. Select the new content area to create a Collaborate session.
