Most of the time, these settings will automatically be taken care of by the Computer Services Help Desk before you even begin using BDM Web Access. However, these make a good checklist if you're experiencing problems using BDM Web Access.

Solution 1
  1. Every documented compatibility issue with Internet Explorer 11 can be made better by switching to compatibility mode. See Setting Compatibility View for Internet Explorer 10 and 11 for details. Technically, IE 9 is still the recommended version for BDM Web Access, but it's preferred to use IE 11 with the compatibility mode fix, as IE 11 is more up-to-date, and works better with other systems.

  2. Make sure that pop-up blocker is turned off for and See and the pop-up blocker heading for more details. Make sure to change the IE version to match yours.


    If you're trying to use the test BDM system, you'll need to add and to the popups-allowed sites list as well.

  3. Make sure that and are in the list of trusted sites. See the Security Zones heading at for more information. Make sure to change the version of Internet Explorer on that page to match the version you are using.

  4. Make sure that you have the add-ons installed to do what you need to do. See WX - Installing Components

Those settings should give you the baseline configuration needed to use BDM Web Access.

Solution 2

You may simply need to select your scanner. See WX - Selecting a Scanner.

If you can't select your scanner, and you've done the above steps, it could be that you need to install the ISIS drivers for your particular scanner.
