In May of 2018, Missouri State University upgraded from Blackboard Learn 9.1 to Blackboard Learn SaaS (aka Blackboard in the Cloud). All Blackboard courses from Summer 2017, Fall 2017, and Spring 2018 were migrated to the new Blackboard system, but courses older than Summer 2017 were not migrated.
Spring 2018 courses were migrated with course content as well as student data and grades. For Summer and Fall 2017 courses, only the course content was migrated. Student data and grades were not included in the migration. This information can still be seen on the Blackboard Legacy site (see below).
See the Help Desk's Blackboard SaaS Information page for more details.

All instructors of record can access the archived Blackboard Learn 9.1 system, now called Blackboard Legacy, by navigating to https://bblegacy.missouristate.edu. Students do not have access to Blackboard Legacy.
All courses that were listed on Blackboard when the upgrade to Blackboard SaaS took place are still available on Blackboard Legacy, including:
- Spring 2018
- Fall 2017
- Summer 2017
- Spring 2017
- Fall 2016
- Summer 2016
- Spring 2016
- Fall 2015
- Summer 2015
- Spring 2015
- Fall 2014
- Summer 2014
Please note that Blackboard courses are purged every 3 years unless specifically requested, so the above list is not comprehensive. If the course was listed on Blackboard in May 2018 it should be accessible in Blackboard Legacy.
It is highly recommended that instructors export or archive any courses or content they wish to save from the Blackboard Legacy site. The Blackboard Legacy archive will be available until at least 2021, though access may be limited.
Saving Courses and Content from Blackboard Legacy
If you need to save any courses or content from the Blackboard Legacy site, you have a few different options.
- Archive a Course
- Export a Course
