When should I provide the catalog descriptions for a change program proposal as attachments?

If the current or new catalog descriptions have elaborate formatting (including tables), then they should be provided as attachments.  Please note that when providing the catalog descriptions as attachments, the text areas for each may be left blank.

When does a proposal need to be reviewed by EPPC?

When a course affects professional education, it will need to be reviewed by EPPC.  When in doubt, please email FacultySenate@MissouriState.edu for clarification.

When does a proposal need to be reviewed by CGEIP?

A proposal will need to be reviewed by CGEIP when any of the following are true:

  • A new general education course is being proposed
  • A change to an existing general education course is being proposed
  • An existing course is being changed to become a general education course
  • An existing general education course is being proposed for deletion

When in doubt, please email FacultySenate@MissouriState.edu for clarification.

What constitutes a "substantive change"?

To determine whether or not a change is considered substantive, please visit the Missouri State University Faculty Senate website at http://www.missouristate.edu/FacultySenateassets/56726facultysenate/304.htmpdf and click on Substantive/nonsubstantive table under the SUBSTANTIVE/NONSUBSTANTIVE GUIDE heading.

How do I submit proposals for two new courses that will be parallel with each other?

To submit a proposal for a new course that will be parallel to another new course, follow these steps:

  1. Open a web browser and visit https://mis.missouristate.edu/Student/ccr/list
  2. Click on the New Course Proposal in the navigation menu on the left side of the page
  3. Fill out the new course proposal for the first course, leaving the parallel course option unselected
  4. Save the proposal as a draft
  5. Click on the New Course Proposal in the navigation menu on the left side of the page
  6. Fill out the new course proposal for the second course
  7. When you reach the parallel course option and click Yes. A list of existing and proposed new courses will appear
  8. Find the first new course being proposed and select it from the list
  9. Complete the proposal and click either Save as draft or Submit for review
  10. Click on the first new course proposal in the My Proposals list
  11. Scroll down to the parallel course option and click Yes. A list of existing and proposed new courses will appear
  12. Find the second new course being proposed and select it from the list
  13. Complete the proposal and click either Save as draft or Submit for review

How do I submit a program proposal for a new, changed, or deleted program of the type "Certification", "Academic Rule", or "Other"?

At this time, these types of program proposals are to be submitted in paper form.  Please contact the Faculty Senate office (FacultySenate@MissouriState.edu) for information.

How do I expand a text box to view all of the text it contains?

To view (or print) the full contents of a text box on a proposal, follow these steps:

  1. Open a web browser (either Firefox or Chrome) and visit https://mis.missouristate.edu/Student/ccr/list
  2. Find the proposal you wish to view in either the My Proposals or the All Proposals list and click on it's date
  3. Scroll down to the text box you would like to expand
  4. The bottom right corner of the text box will have a triangle pattern of dots as shown below


  5. Click and hold on the bottom right corner of the text box and drag your mouse down the page to make the box bigger until all text is viewable, as shown below


  6. Now the proposal may be printed to hard copy or a PDF and the box will remain expanded, showing its full contents
