Problem

When displaying imaged documents from INB the resulting browser screen that appears should automatically pop up in front of all other opened windows. However, if the browser that opens is found behind other already opened windows, follow the instructions below to correct this behavior.

You may need to set Internet Explorer to open new windows in a new tab.

Open Internet Options. This can usually be found by clicking the gear in the upper right hand corner and choosing Internet Options.

There, click the Tabs button.

In the Tabbed Browsing Settings window:

  • Check to make sure that the setting "When a pop-up is encountered:" is set either to "Let INternet Explorer decide how pop-ups should open" or "Always open pop-ups in a new tab."
  • Make sure that the setting for "Open links from other programs in:" is "A new tab in the current window."

That done, click OK, then click OK again.
