  • HFS+ hard disk format (also known as Mac OS Extended or HFS Plus).
  • DVD drive or connection to a local area network (if installing over a network).
  • 1280 x 768 or higher resolution monitor

Mobile Office iPhone

iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, iPod Touch 5th generation: All these devices must be running iOS 6.1 minimum.

Mobile Office 365 can be used to perform limited editing of Microsoft Word and Excel documents and can view documents.

Mobile Office Android

Android OS 4.0 or greater, Android touch enabled smartphones only.

Accessing the Office 365 ProPlus for Students Installer

  1. Sign in to your student Office 365 Education account. This can be done by using your e-mail link in My Missouri State or My Grizzly Den for West Plains Students:



    You can also access it by going to http://mail.office365.com and signing in using your BearPassLogin@live.missouristate.edu and your Office 365 Education password (which can be changed at http://cams.missouristate.edu if you have forgotten it).

  2. Once inside your Office 365 Education mailbox, click the gear icon in the upper-right corner and click Office 365 Education Settings.


  3. On the Office 365 Education Settings Page, click Install Software in the Settings Tab.


  4. On the software page, click Install to begin the installation of the most recent version of Office. If your computer doesn't meet the requirements for Office 2013 listed later in this guide, you can download earlier versions of Office using the links below the install button.

Installing on a Windows Computer

  1. In Windows, clicking the Install button will download (or prompt you to download, depending on your browser settings) an executable file (.exe) for Microsoft Office. Click to Run. Once it has downloaded, simply launch the file, approve the install, and an Office screen will pop-up along with a notification that Office is installing in the background as seen below. When this happens, click the Next button in the lower-right of the Office window to move to the next step of the installation.


  2. In the next step, you will be asked to accept the License Agreement. You can view the agreement if you wish by clicking on the View Agreement link and then click the Use Recommended Settings button to accept the License Agreement, and click Next.


  3. The Office Installer will then bring up a window explaining the OneDrive feature. After clicking next again, you will come to window asking you to select a customization view for your Office. This is purely for looks and won't change the actual functionality of Office. Select the option you like best from the list, then click Next.
  4. The Office Installer will then ask you to sign in to get the most out of Office. click Sign In.


  5. In the E-mail field, enter your BearPassLogin@live.missouristate.edu and click Next.


  6. Click Work Account and click Next.


  7. Enter your Office365 Password and click Sign In.


  8. Office will then ask if you would like to view a tutorial. You can click on the orange Take a Look button to watch a short video illustrating some of Office's new features. Or click on the blue No, thanks link to move ahead without watching the video.


  9. Once the video has completed, or you have selected to skip the video, the installation of Office is fully configured. If you are still receiving the notification that Office is being installed in the background, you may wish to wait for this installation to complete before running Office for the optimal performance, but it is not necessary for all applications.

Installing on a Mac Computer

  1. After clicking the Install button, open the Microsoft_Office_2016_installer.pkg file. The Install Microsoft Office 2016 for Mac window will appear. 
  2. Click Continue.


  3. Click Continue again.


  4. Click Agree.


  5. Click Install.


  6. Wait for the download to complete and click Continue.


  7. Click Close.


  8.  Open the Microsoft Word file that appears on the dock.


  9. Click Get Started.


  10. Click Sign In.


  11.  Enter your BearPassLogin@live.missouristate.edu (not your actual email address) and click Next.


  12.  Select Work Account.


  13. Click Work or school account.


  14. Enter your BearPassLogin@live.missouristate.edu and your Office 365  Education password. Then click Sign in.


Choose a theme, and then click Continue.


You should now have access to Office 365 ProPlus.

Steps for installing Office 365 Education Applications on iPhone

  1. Open the App Store 
  2. Search for the required Office 365 Education application ( Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  3. Download the application
  4. Fill out your login information:
    • Username: BearPassLogin@live.missouristate.edu
    • Password: Your Office 365 Education password

Steps for installing Office 365 Education Applications on Android

  1. Open the Play Store 
  2. Search for the required Office 365 Education application ( Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
  3. Download the application
  4. Fill out your login information.
    • Username: BearPassLogin@live.missouristate.edu
    • Password: Your Office 365 Education password
